When he was four years old and his parents divorced, he and his family moved to College Station, Texas, and when he reached the age of in high school, he had decided that it was his dream to become an actor. After trying college for three months he told me, "Things didn't really go my way and it didn't really work for the students, so we decided to end our relationship." He relocated to New York, where he was a student at the Circle in the Square Theatre School. The actors came together again to make the film The Last Word, in which they played on screen love interests. Stuart Fink directed the movie. Shirley MacLaine was also present in the film.
